511 A Case Report of A 16-Year-Old Girl with Peritoneal Tuberculosis

Abstract Peritoneal Tuberculosis (PTB) is a rare extra-pulmonary manifestation of Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection. It usually presents with non-specific symptoms that can mimic other intra-abdominal pathology. Therefore, high index suspicion needed for diagnosis and early treatment PTB. Some the conditions in young patients may have similar presentations to PTB include Crohns’ disease, ovarian pathology acute appendicitis. Diagnosing paediatric population tends be even more challenging as an obvious history exposure difficult obtain. Diagnostic laparoscopic biopsy histopathology provides definitive diagnosis. Most studies recommend 6-month course anti-TB therapy abdominal planned regimen using Isoniazid, Rifampicin, Pyrazinamide Ethambutol. This case report 16-year-old girl who presented recurrent pain, vomiting pyrexia. Radiological, laparoscopic, histopathological findings were used final this condition. The patient was treated anti-tuberculosis 6 months following which, she able make full recovery.
